Welcome to the Reverend Fanatic!

Since this site's inception, it has focused on the estimated 4600 USA Reverend instruments manufactured between 1997 and 2006, the so called "USA Era" or by Reverend, the "Phenolic Era".

But due to reader demand (yes, I get e-mails!) I am expanding the site to cover the Reverend Import models as well. This will be no small task, as to be honest, there are still holes in the USA information that I'd like to close, but, regardless, I will SLOWLY begin to ad info on the Import models to the Revfan.com site.

I am going to begin with the Discontinued models, especially the ones that came out during the waning days of USA production, and hopefully, by Spring, I'll have something up and running. Until then, there is still a hole lotta info here on the USA models, so sit back and get a clikin'.

With that, I will open up the Revfan.com CLASSIFIEDS to anyone with an IMPORT model. If you haven't checked out the Wanted/For Sale page, it is where I sell a few Reverends and let readers list guitars/basses/amps that they would like to sell.

For those of you who want a "Brand New" instrument, I encourage you to take a look at Reverend's Current Line-up of Import Guitars. I have been slowly gathering information to include discontinued models from Reverend's Import line... but it will probably be a while before that happens as there is still so much work that needs to be completed in the USA information.

At this time, I want to thank all the real experts in the on-line community that have helped provide information (knowingly and unknowingly), as this site is really a collective effort of knowledge and experiences from a lot of different sources. Though most I only know by their screen names, I would especially like to thank Lobstapickin, Dustin, IPLAYLOUD, Salamandyr, Blackhawk, Reverenddripper, and Martyncrew.

For general overviews of the different product lines, and the buy and sell pages, click the links at the top (in green). If you would like to add or correct anything, please feel free to send me an e-mail and I will try to get it updated as soon as I can.

All Reverend USA models "should" have a serial number and the initials of the final inspector/factory set up guy on the back of the headstock.

The numbers and initials were written with a black sharpie pen, and this can lead to some problems as they can be removed (or wear off on their own) fairly easily.

The original inspector/set-up man was Joe Naylor himself, and seems to have written his "JFN" on most of the guitars and basses up to around sn 1200. There are a few others during that period, which include Scott Schaffer (SDS) and some "Jesse H." After that, Zack Green and his "ZSG" show up, and continues into the current import line.

Been kind of slacking off on the updates here... Is anyone reading this part anyway? I have been saying the market sucks now for YEARS... way back when the market started sucking, I was saying it.

In case you were curious, my name is Greg, but on Forums I go by Daktari (Swahili for "doctor," which I took from the 60s TV show).

I have a degree in Biology, and worked in the Environmental Sciences until marrying a teacher in 1997. Shortly after getting married, my wife was hired by the US Military to be a teacher on overseas bases ( DODDS ). We packed up and moved to Europe and have lived in both the UK (98-03) and Germany (03-present).

One cool thing about the US military overseas, is that there is a US Post Office on just about every Base/Post. You can ship things USPS to me without hassle (well, no more hassle than dealing with the Post Office) so don't worry about shipping International as its done all in-house with the US Postal System and US Air Force.

I have a 11 year old daughter and a 8 year old son. When I am not frantically searching the web for USA Reverends, I am probably traveling around Europe or playing "MR. Mom" (I am a stay at home dad now). I play ALL of the instruments that I own, more often than not, at the base Chapel as a Praise Team band member, but have been known to play some German Festivals and in Coffee Houses when home duties allow. TIDBIT: The unofficial German National Anthem is John Denver's "Country Roads".
