SCU - ASCU - RSCU - WSCU - SCU NAMM
The first Slingshot Custom was made in the year 2000 and was in the black phenolic and had the serial number 1581. The last Slingshot Custom to leave the Reverend Factory bore the staff's initials and was the 3rd from the last USA Reverend Made; an Aged White Retro Pro Slingshot Custom. OTHER OPTIONS
Almost 1/3rd of the Slingshots Custom population (127
of 402) were sold with some sort
of Tremolo. Of these, 75 had a Bigsby, 24 were the standard fulcrum
Tremolo, 24
were the Hipshot Tremolo, and 3 were the
"Revsby".
Almost 20% of the Slingshots Custom population (78 of 402) were sold with Maple Necks.
Wiring options: 38 models came with the Phase Switch. There were 29 with the Studio Switch.
CUSTOM and NOTES
There are only 2 models that are noted as being
"Custom" but no information on what the Custom Features (if any) were.
A third model, though it is not denoted as
being custom, was ordered with a Humbucker in the middle position.
UPGRADES: So far, I can only find 3 SCUs that were in for upgrades. One model was returned for an upgrade of Studio Switch and Graph Tech Saddles, another had a body replaced. The third started life as a Space Race Silver Rocco, 03170 but was returned to the factory in Sept of 03 for the switch to SCU, along with the addition of a Hipshot Trem.
