Reverend Hitman (HIT)
In the year 2000, the first Hitman entered in the books with SN 01321 (Powder Yellow). The Hitman model was a shooting star that didn't last long in the Reverend Line up. A total of 55 were ordered/made in about a 2 year period (though one was made in Oct of 2005, long after it left the catalog).
The Hitman configuration consists of: Reverend Tele-style bridge pickup, zebra neck humbucker with coil tap, and 3-way pickup selector. The official sound discription of this configuration is: "Rich 3-D vintage tone, but fuller sounding and with more tonal options".

Hitman Collecting Notes
FINISHES
The most common Hitman is the
Powder Yellow as 21 were made.
When combined with the next most popular, Aged White (12), Jet Black (6), and Blood Red (2), you get well over half of all
Hitman models.
SPECIALTY/METAL FINISH
With
such low production numbers, there are not a lot of Metal finished
Hitman. There are 6 Bug Eyes, One Ridged Aluminum, and One
Brushed Aluminum Lake Superior Blue.
Faux Wood
The Hitman model left the catalog before the faux finsihes came into full swing, so there are very few. One of the earliest faux wood finishes available was Birdseye Maple and there is one of those (see pic above) and one Hitman in Quilted Mahogany as well.
ONE OF A KINDs
I have owned two Hitmen so
far,
both have been one of a kind. The Birdseye Maple/Maple Board
guitar (SN 01417) and the Turqouise/Maple Board shown here (SN 01821).
Other "one-of"s not mentioned already are in Fireball
Red, Sky Blue, and Purple.
There is also one Hitman that is listed in the notes section as "P90 - Strat -Tele".
OTHER OPTIONS
There were 6 Fulcrum Tremolos ordered on Hitman, no other Tremelos are
noted.
Maple necks made up almost 60% of the Hitman models (32 of 55).
None were ordered with the Phase or Studio Switch.
